Altered Ego explores the world of identity, espionage and deception. Through a series of situational and photo-based interventions, the project investigates the ways in which we all construct our identities with varying degrees of veracity, accuracy and even mendacity…

The project investigates alter egos, notions of self-presentation in the world, differing identities for different contexts and those ‘normal’ parts of human behaviour that are influenced by experiences and heightened in disability. This is being achieved through a series of experiments and interventions.

The project investigates notions of identity, who we ‘are’, self-presentation and deception and will culminate in a symposium and exhibition in 2018/19.

Altered Ego is being led by artists, David Sinden and Kate Woodward with the collaboration of five artists, identifying as both disabled and non-disabled.
Linking with project partners Disability Arts Cymru, Ffotogallery and Cardiff MADE. As well as key research centres at Cardiff School of Art & Design and TRACE at Bath Spa University
