Altered Ego explores the world of identity, espionage and deception. Through a series of situational and photo-based interventions, the project investigates the ways in which we all construct our identities with varying degrees of veracity, accuracy and even mendacity…

The project investigates alter egos, notions of self-presentation in the world, differing identities for different contexts and those ‘normal’ parts of human behaviour that are heightened in disability. This is being achieved through a series of experiments and interventions.

The project investigates notions of identity, who we ‘are’, self-presentation and deception and will culminate in a symposium and exhibition in 2018/19.

Altered Ego is being led by Disability Arts Cymru in partnership with artists, David Sinden and Kate Woodward. It links with key research centres at Cardiff School of Art & Design and TRACE at Bath Spa University
